Vecow PE-2004MX Intel i210 4-Port M12 GigE PoE+ Frame Grabber Card

The PE-2004MX is Vecow's M12 PoE+ card, with four Gigabit ports on X-coded M12 connectors, four independent Intel I210 controllers, IEEE 802.3at at up to 25.5 W per port and PCI Express x4. It suits systems where cameras connect through rugged M12 cabling.

  • Four X-Coded M12 Ports: Four Gigabit ports sit on rugged X-coded M12 connectors in place of RJ45 on the bracket.
  • Four Intel I210 Controllers: Each port has its own Intel I210 controller at up to 1 Gbps, so cameras do not share a controller.
  • IEEE 802.3at PoE+: Each port supplies up to 25.5 W at 48 V DC, with PoE+ on/off control and four PoE status LEDs.
  • Standard Card Width: The 168 x 105 mm board meets the standard 14.5 mm PCIe card width, so it fits a normal slot pitch.
  • -25 to 70 °C Operation: The card operates from -25 to 70 °C and stores from -40 to 85 °C, with Windows 10 and Linux listed.

PE-2004MX Overview

Cameras on moving machinery or in harsh cabinets often use M12 cabling, and an RJ45 card at the host means an adapter lead at the last joint. The PE-2004MX is Vecow’s four-port PoE+ expansion card with rugged X-coded M12 connectors on the bracket, a standalone model that keeps M12 all the way to the computer. We fit it to systems we build where the camera harness is M12 from end to end.

Each of the four Gigabit ports has its own Intel I210 controller, running at 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps. The host interface is PCI Express x4. The controllers support jumbo frames up to 9728 bytes, enhanced transmission selection (draft 802.1Qaz), priority flow control (draft 802.1Qbb), PXE boot and Intel Virtualization Technology.

Every port complies with IEEE 802.3at and supplies up to 25.5 W at 48 V DC. PoE+ on/off control lets the host switch power on each port, and four PoE status LEDs on the bracket show which ports are powering a device. The PE-2004 carries the same four-port I210 design on RJ45, and the PE-8004MX moves the M12 layout to 10GbE. Our M12 to RJ45 FAQ covers the cabling between the two connector types.

PoE power comes from one 4-pin 12 V connector. The board measures 168 x 105 mm with a full-height bracket and meets the standard 14.5 mm PCIe card width. Vecow rates it from -25 to 70 °C operating and -40 to 85 °C storage, with relative humidity up to 95% at 70 °C, and lists CE and FCC. Vecow lists Windows 11, Windows 10 and Linux support.

Official Vecow USA Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Vecow USA distributor, supplying the PE-2004MX for USA transport and industrial vision programs. Within the Vecow range the PE-2004 is the RJ45 version of the same four-port design, and the PE-8004MX carries four 10GbE PoE+ ports on M12.

As a four-port M12 PoE+ card the PE-2004MX sits among our PoE PCIe cards, our PCIe frame grabbers and our PCIe expansion cards. Where four Gigabit cameras arrive on X-coded M12 cabling, this is the card to specify.
