Vecow VIG-100M NXP i.MX 6UL Cortex-A7 IoT Gateway with Dual M12 LAN, Two RS-232/422/485 Ports and -25 to 70 °C

Gateways fitted to machines and fleet equipment have to cope with vibration that can work an RJ45 plug loose over time. The Vecow VIG-100M is the M12 build of the base VIG-100 series model, a fanless IoT gateway on the NXP i.MX 6UL with two LAN ports on M12 connectors and two serial ports.

The NXP i.MX 6UL is a single Arm Cortex-A7 core with 512 MB of DDR3L, a low-power choice for protocol conversion and data forwarding rather than heavy local processing. The VIG-100M ships with Debian Stretch R01 on Linux kernel 4.9, stores the OS on 512 MB of NAND flash, and takes micro SD cards up to 128 GB, with eMMC up to 32 GB as an option from Vecow.

I/O covers two 10/100 Ethernet ports on screw-locking M12 connectors, which hold up better than RJ45 under vibration, one USB 2.0 Type A port with OTG support and two software-configurable RS-232/422/485 ports on RJ45 with 8 kV ESD protection. A full-size mini PCIe socket with an external SIM slot takes an optional 4G LTE and GPS module or Wi-Fi module, with four antenna positions, and eight user-programmable LEDs show status.

Power is 6 to 40 V DC on a three-pin terminal block, and the VIG-100M runs fanless from -25 °C to 70 °C, with shock tested to IEC 60068-2-27 at 50 G and vibration to IEC 60068-2-64 at 5 Grms. The EMC list covers CE and FCC, and the gateway is designed to EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 requirements. It wall-mounts on a bracket or fits an optional DIN rail kit. The VIG-100 uses RJ45 LAN instead, and the VIG-110M adds two more serial ports and eight GPIO.
