Winmate OSDB-5K OSD Control Box

A display built deep into a machine, a cleanroom wall or an enclosed cabinet often has its menu keys out of reach once it is installed. The OSDB-5K is Winmate’s OSD box display controller for that problem: a small panel mount box with five keys that moves brightness, contrast and input control to wherever the operator or engineer can actually get to it.

The box carries a circuit board and five keys (minus, plus, power, right and left) in a black SECC steel enclosure. It drives the display’s own on-screen menu, giving the operator brightness, contrast and input source control from wherever the box is fitted. Winmate positions it for manufacturing, cleanrooms and automation systems where direct interaction with the display is impractical.

Connection is a single D-sub 9-pin OSD control port, and a 1.8 m OSD cable is supplied, with a 5 m cable as an option for longer runs. Winmate states that the OSDB-5K is compatible only with displays it supplies, and that other brands’ displays may malfunction or be damaged, so we confirm the display model before you order. Winmate monitors in our range include the R15L100-EHC3, a 15 inch slim panel mount touch monitor, and the W22L100-PPA3, a 21.5 inch full HD panel mount touch monitor.

The OSDB-5K is a panel mount design, so it can sit in a console, on a cabinet door or beside a machine guard, with the OSD cable run back to the display. It is an accessory rather than a display, so it is usually ordered with the Winmate monitor it will control.
