Winmate R15ID3S-65EX 15″ ATEX Zone 2 Stainless Panel PC with Intel Atom N2600 and Resistive Touch

Hazardous area sites often run long-lived control software that was validated on an older operating system, and replacing a terminal means matching both the markings and the software stack. The R15ID3S-65EX is Winmate’s 15 inch Intel Atom N2600 hazardous area panel PC with bonded resistive touch in an IP65 stainless housing, certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D T4, and carries the ATEX II 3G Ex ic nA IIC T4 Gc and IECEx Ex nA IIC T4 Gc markings, for ambient temperatures of -20 °C to 50 °C in the hazardous area.

The Intel Atom N2600 runs at 1.6 GHz on the Intel NM10 chipset, with one DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM fitted with 4 GB. Storage is a 128 GB mSATA SSD with up to 512 GB as an option, and Windows 7 Embedded or Ubuntu 16.04 can be supplied. The 15 inch 1024 x 768 panel runs at 500 nits with 2500:1 contrast and 176° viewing angles and the 5-wire resistive touch screen is bonded to the panel.

All connections use M12 connectors: one Gigabit Ethernet port on a Broadcom controller, two USB 2.0 ports and one RS-232/422/485 port, with M12 cables and an RJ45 converter supplied. Two Mini-PCIe slots take a SATA SSD and a Wi-Fi module. The R15IB3S-65EX is the newer Celeron N2930 model with PCAP touch, and the R15L600-65EX is the matching 15 inch hazardous area touch display for use with a remote computer.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on an M12 connector, with an AC adapter supplied for safe-area use. The R15ID3S-65EX is fanless, operates from -20 °C to 60 °C outside the hazardous area and -20 °C to 50 °C within it, and is tested to MIL-STD-810G for vibration and drop. It also lists UL 60950-1, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1-07 and EN 62368-1 with CE and FCC. It measures 396 x 310 x 49 mm, weighs 5.5 kg and mounts on 100 x 100 mm VESA.
