HDMI to HDMI-S Overview
Projectors, older monitors and some recorders only accept a narrow set of resolutions, so an HDMI source can fail to show or appear cropped. The Yuan HDMI to HDMI-S is a broadcast video converter that scales HDMI to the format the display wants, which suits pro AV, education, events and control rooms.
Input is one HDMI connection accepting 1920x1080p at 60/50 and 30/25/24 fps, 1080i, 720p, SD and VESA PC formats from 640×480 to 1280×1024. Output is one HDMI connection, up/down converted to any of those formats, with VESA output configurable from 640×480 to 1920×1080. Region of interest crops part of the image and scales it to fill the screen. Yuan also lists it as suitable for mirroring selfie video and photos. Built-in interlacer, de-interlacer and 60 to 59.94 fps conversion are included, and audio runs at up to eight channels, 24-bit, 192 kHz.
The HDMI to HDMI-S is plug and play and runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input. For a 4K display, the HDMI to HDMI2.0 4K up-scales HD sources to HDMI 2.0 at 4K60. To send the same HDMI signal into SDI, the HDMI to SDI-S scales HDMI onto two SDI outputs.
No operating temperature or certification is published, so we treat it as an indoor unit.
