Yuan SC400N1 MC SDI Mini PCIe SDI Capture Card with 3G-SDI Input at 1080p60

An SDI camera on a vehicle, a drone ground station or an inspection rig usually needs to feed a monitor and a recording computer, and the computer is often a compact embedded board. The SC400N1 MC SDI is Yuan’s Mini PCIe SDI capture card, with a 3G-SDI input and loop-through, built for that kind of small, often unattended system.

The card takes one SDI input at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, along with 1080p30, 1080i, 720p and SD-SDI formats. The SDI output loops the incoming signal through so the existing monitor keeps its picture. Audio comes from the SDI embedded stream, with analog left and right through a wafer connector. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit, so host software can take frames in the format it already uses.

The card runs PCIe x1 over the Mini PCIe connector and adds 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing, and the card captures VANC data alongside video and audio. There is no hardware encoder, so any compression runs in software on the host. Yuan supplies a Windows and Linux SDK for custom applications, and the card works with DirectShow and V4L2 software; Yuan’s compatibility list names vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting. The SC400N1 MC AIO adds an HDMI input on the same card size, and the SC400N2 M2 SDI captures two SDI feeds with loop-through on an M.2 module.

Yuan lists driver support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. Yuan lists multi-instance and multi-device support for systems that run more than one capture session or card. The card measures 30 x 50.95 mm, the full Mini PCIe size, so it fits the standard socket on embedded boards.
