Yuan SC540N1-L PCIe SDI and DVI Frame Grabber with 1080p30 Capture
PCI ExpressSC540N1-L Overview
A recording or streaming PC sometimes has to take an SDI camera one day and a DVI computer output the next. The SC540N1-L is Yuan’s PCIe SDI and DVI frame grabber for that mix, putting SDI and DVI-I connectors on one short bracket so the host can capture whichever source is connected.
Signals up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps are accepted and captured at 1920 x 1080p at 30/25 fps. Yuan lists 3G-SDI at 1080p60/50, HD-SDI at 1080p30/25/24, 1080i60/50 and 720p60/50, and SD-SDI at 720 x 480i and 720 x 576i, along with common PC timings on the DVI side. Capture and preview formats cover RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all at 8-bit. Embedded audio is captured as stereo 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz. On-board processing handles cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so any encoding is left to the host software.
The card uses a PCIe x1 Gen1 link. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK, supports DirectShow and V4L2 software, and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting as compatible applications. For two sources at once at 1080p60, the SC542N2-L Hybrid pairs SDI and DVI-I on separate channels, and the SC542N1-L SDI is the single SDI card with loop-through.
Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM, and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 104.91 x 68.9 mm. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, for hosts that run more than one card or capture session.
