A live stream or hybrid meeting often combines a camera with a laptop or presentation feed, and both screens in the room still need their signal. The SC542N2-L HDMI is Yuan’s 2-channel PCIe HDMI video capture card for that set-up, capturing two HDMI sources while loop-through outputs pass each one on.
Each channel captures up to 2048 x 1080p and 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, and Yuan’s table also lists 1920 x 1200p, 1080i, 720p and PC timings down to 640 x 480. Color formats for capture and preview are 8-bit RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0. Two embedded HDMI audio channels are captured as stereo 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz. On-board processing handles cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so any encoding is left to the host software.
The card uses a PCIe x1 Gen2 link. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK, supports DirectShow and V4L2 software, and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting as compatible applications. The SC542N4 HDMI scales to four HDMI channels on PCIe x4, and the SC542N2-L SDI is the SDI card with loop-through on the same interface.
Operating system support covers Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux from kernel 2.6.14 in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. The board measures 144.75 x 68.9 mm and carries 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, for hosts that run more than one card or capture session.
