Yuan SC5A0N1 MC HDV Mini PCIe HDMI and DVI Capture Card with 1080p60 Input

A small embedded recorder that captures from a computer, an instrument or older component equipment needs the right inputs and often has little processor time for encoding. The SC5A0N1 MC HDV is Yuan’s Mini PCIe HDMI and DVI capture card, with DVI-I and YPbPr inputs alongside HDMI and a built-in H.26X hardware encoder.

The HDMI, DVI-I and YPbPr inputs come through an on-board wafer connection as one capture channel. Sources arrive at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps and the card delivers 1920 x 1080p at 30/25 fps to the host. Frames reach the host as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, which lets display, analysis and encoding software pick the color format that suits it. Built-in cropping and scaling, a deinterlace engine and auto signal detection take routine work off the host. YPbPr runs to 1080p and 1080i at 60/50 fps. Audio is HDMI embedded, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.

It is a full-size Mini PCIe (Minicard) card on a PCIe x1 link, with H.26X hardware encoding on board. Yuan supplies Windows and Linux SDKs, and as a DirectShow and V4L2 device it works with vMix, OBS and conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams and Webex. The SC550N1 MC HDV has the same inputs and captures at 1080p60 without an encoder, and the SC5A0N1 M2 HDV is the M.2 version.

Operating system support covers Windows 7 to Windows 10, Linux from kernel 2.6.14 in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. The board measures 30 x 50.95 mm, with its video brought out on a breakout cable from the wafer. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support.
