Antaira LMX-0500-V2 5-Port Fast Ethernet Managed Industrial Ethernet Switches with Extended Temperature Options

Plenty of industrial cabinets hold only a PLC, an HMI and a couple of drives or sensors, so a 16-port switch is more than the job needs. What they do need is management: VLANs to separate traffic, a ring that recovers quickly if a cable is cut, and an alarm when something goes wrong. The Antaira LMX-0500-V2 series answers that with five managed Fast Ethernet ports in an IP30 metal case for a DIN rail.

Both models share the same design. Five 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports switch store-and-forward on a 1 Gbps fabric with an 8K MAC table, a 4 Mbit buffer and 9.6 KB jumbo frames. The Layer 2+ firmware covers IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, 802.1p QoS with eight priority queues, IGMP snooping for up to 1024 groups, LACP and SNMP v1/v2c/v3, and Version 2 hardware adds static routes between VLANs with DHCP Option 82. Ring redundancy uses ITU-T G.8032 ERPS with recovery in under 50 ms, with STP, RSTP and MSTP as alternatives. Power comes in on redundant 12 to 48 V DC inputs on a 6-contact terminal block, with reverse polarity and overload protection, a 24 V DC relay contact and a 7.5 W draw.

The series offers two temperature grades. The LMX-0500-V2 is the standard build, rated -10 °C to 70 °C for heated or indoor cabinets. The LMX-0500-T-V2 is the extended temperature build, rated -40 °C to 75 °C for unheated roadside, pumping station and outdoor enclosures. Where a sixth copper port is useful, the Antaira LMX-0600-V2 series follows the same design, and the LMX-0501G-SFP-V2 series moves to gigabit copper with an SFP slot for fiber.

Antaira names factory automation, ITS, power and utility, water and wastewater and other outdoor or harsh environments as the intended applications, and builds the LMX-0500-V2 series with high EFT and ESD protection, tested to IEC 61000-4-2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8. Each case is tested for shock to IEC 60068-2-27, vibration to IEC 60068-2-6 and free fall to IEC 60068-2-32, with storage from -40 °C to 85 °C and 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. Each switch is managed through the web console, Telnet, SSH or CLI, with an RS232 console port on RJ45 and USB 2.0 configuration backup. Both models carry FCC and CE marks, are RoHS compliant and come with Antaira’s 5-year warranty, and we can pre-configure IP addressing, VLANs and ring settings before they ship.
