Antaira LNX-C500-T-CC 5-Port Compact Fast Ethernet Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch with Conformal Coating and -40 to 75 °C

An outdoor cabinet at a water treatment works, a mine or a roadside ITS installation faces two problems at once: wide temperature swings and moist, corrosive air. The LNX-C500-T-CC is the extended temperature model in the Antaira LNX-C500-CC series, combining conformal coated circuit boards with a -40 °C to 75 °C rating in a small five-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged switch.

The coating is a specialty film that follows the contours of the printed circuit board, and Antaira says its process meets or exceeds the standards for protection against gases, dust and water. Five 10/100BaseTx RJ45 ports auto-negotiate speed and duplex and support auto MDI/MDI-X, with store-and-forward switching, an 8K MAC address table, a 448 Kbit buffer and IEEE 802.3x flow control. No set-up is needed before installation.

Redundant 12 to 48 V DC inputs connect through a removable 4-contact terminal block, and the switch draws 1.2 W. Reverse polarity protection keeps it off if the supply is reversed, overload current protection is built in, and the ports are protected against surges to 2,000 V DC and ESD to 6,000 V DC.

The IP30 metal case mounts on a DIN rail, or on a wall as an option, and is rated to IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-6 vibration. Antaira lists FCC, CE, RoHS and UL 61010-1 certification, NEMA TS2 compliance and its 5-year warranty for the LNX-C500-T-CC, and names power and utility, water and wastewater treatment, oil, gas and mining, process control, security access control and ITS as applications. The LNX-C500-CC is the coated standard build rated -10 °C to 70 °C, the LNX-C500-T is the uncoated extended build, and the LNX-800A-T-CC offers eight coated ports.
