ASRock Industrial iEP-5020G-023 Quad-Core Intel Amston Lake Atom x7433RE Fanless Edge Gateway with Five LAN Ports and 5G Option

Sites with several wired networks and no fixed-line uplink usually end up with a router, a switch and a controller in the same cabinet. The ASRock Industrial iEP-5020G-023 is the five-LAN 5G build of the iEP-5020G series, combining five Intel LAN ports with an M.2 Key B slot and Nano SIM for an optional 4G or 5G module, so one fanless IoT gateway on a DIN rail can cover the wired and cellular sides.

The Intel Atom x7433RE is a quad-core Amston Lake processor at 1.5 GHz and 9 W, which keeps heat low enough for a fanless design. One DDR5 4800 SO-DIMM takes up to 16 GB with Intel In-Band ECC, and an M.2 2280 Key M slot on PCIe Gen3 x2 takes an NVMe SSD, with a Micro SD slot alongside. TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer and Intel In-Band Manageability are built in, and Windows 11 and Linux are supported.

Networking is four Intel Gigabit ports, two I210-IT and two I210-AT, plus one Intel I226-IT 2.5GbE port, with TSN and Intel TCC supported on LAN1 under Ubuntu for time-sensitive traffic. Two RS-232/422/485 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB 2.0, a USB-C port that also carries DisplayPort, a DisplayPort 1.4a output and audio complete the I/O. This build has no Wi-Fi slot, so the M.2 Key B slot is the only wireless option.

Power is 6 to 36 V DC on two 3-pin terminal blocks, with OVP, UVP, OCP and 80 V surge protection. The iEP-5020G-023 is rated from -40 °C to 70 °C with airflow, is tested to 100 G shock and 5 Grms vibration and carries CE and FCC Class A marks. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, NVMe storage, the OS image and the 4G or 5G module and antennas fitted. The iEP-5020G-020 pairs the cellular slot with three LAN ports and Wi-Fi, and the iEP-5020G-022 keeps five LAN ports with Wi-Fi in place of cellular.
