ASRock Industrial iEP-5020G-024 Intel Atom x7433RE Fanless Edge Gateway with Isolated 8DI/8DO

Control cabinets that read limit switches and drive relays often need a separate I/O module next to the controller. The ASRock Industrial iEP-5020G-024 is the 8DIO build of the iEP-5020G series, adding eight digital inputs and eight digital outputs with sink or source isolation at 36 V to a fanless edge gateway, so the digital signals land on the same DIN-rail unit that runs the logic.

The Intel Atom x7433RE is a quad-core Amston Lake processor at 1.5 GHz and 9 W, which keeps heat low enough for a fanless design. One DDR5 4800 SO-DIMM takes up to 16 GB with Intel In-Band ECC, and an M.2 2280 Key M slot on PCIe Gen3 x2 takes an NVMe SSD, with a Micro SD slot alongside. TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer and Intel In-Band Manageability are built in, and Windows 11 and Linux are supported.

The isolated I/O sits on a digital input/output block on the top panel. Networking is two Intel I210-IT Gigabit ports and one Intel I226-IT 2.5GbE port, with TSN and Intel TCC supported on LAN1 under Ubuntu for time-sensitive traffic. Two RS-232/422/485 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB 2.0, a USB-C port that also carries DisplayPort, a DisplayPort 1.4a output and audio complete the I/O. An M.2 Key E slot takes an optional Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 module; this build has no cellular slot.

Power is 6 to 36 V DC on two 3-pin terminal blocks, with OVP, UVP, OCP and 80 V surge protection. The iEP-5020G-024 is rated from -40 °C to 70 °C with airflow, is tested to 100 G shock and 5 Grms vibration and carries CE and FCC Class A marks. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, NVMe storage, the OS image and any Wi-Fi module fitted. The iEP-5020G-020 drops the digital I/O for a 4G or 5G slot, and the iEP-5020G-022 adds two more LAN ports.
