ASRock Industrial IMB-1008J Intel N97 Mini-ITX Board with Dual GbE, Triple Display and 12V DC Barrel Input

Signage players and small controllers often need a second SSD for logging or a separate data partition, a simple DC feed and a tidy rear panel. The ASRock Industrial IMB-1008J is a Mini-ITX board on the Intel N97 (Alder Lake-N) with two M.2 Key M sockets, internal COM headers and a 12 V DC barrel jack on the rear, in a slim layout suited to space-saving enclosures.

The N97 has four cores at up to 3.6 GHz within a 12 W rating, with Intel UHD Graphics. One DDR5 SO-DIMM socket runs at 4800 MHz and takes up to 32 GB. Windows 11 and Linux are supported, so the IMB-1008J can run a standard image for signage or control software.

Storage is the main difference: the first M.2 Key M socket takes a PCIe x1 Gen3 or SATA SSD, the second runs PCIe x1 Gen3 with USB 2.0, and one SATA3 port adds a drive. With an optional M2M-M2B card, the second socket takes a 3042 or 3052 Key B module with a SIM socket. An M.2 Key E socket with CNVi takes an optional Wi-Fi module. Displays run from two HDMI 2.0b outputs and an LVDS or eDP connector, with up to three screens at once. Networking is two Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit ports. The rear panel has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0, and internal headers add two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0. Internal COM headers give COM1 and COM2 RS-232/422/485 and COM3 and COM4 RS-232, with COM5 and COM6 optional, plus four GPI and four GPO.

Power is 12 V DC through the rear barrel jack, with AT and ATX power-on modes. The board is rated from -20 °C to 70 °C operating, carries CE and FCC marks and has a TPM header. We supply the IMB-1008J configured and tested, with memory, storage and the OS image fitted. The IMB-1007J adds a PCIe x1 slot and rear DB9 COM ports on the same N97, and the IMB-1012J-WV moves to 9 to 28 V DC with separate LVDS and eDP.
