Signage, kiosk and machine control builds often still connect to VGA screens and a couple of serial devices, and do not always need the extras of a business chipset. The ASRock Industrial IMB-1242 is an H610 Mini-ITX SBC aimed at those jobs, taking Intel Core Series 2 (Bartlett Lake-S) and 14th, 13th and 12th Gen Core processors up to 65 W in an LGA1700 socket.
Two SO-DIMM sockets take DDR4 at 3200 MHz, up to 64 GB in total. A PCIe x16 Gen4 slot takes an add-in card, and storage comes from one M.2 Key M socket (2260 or 2280) at PCIe Gen3 x4 with SATA, plus two SATA 6Gb/s ports. Windows 11 and Linux are supported. The IMB-1242 has no onboard TPM; a TPM header takes an optional TPM module where the operating system needs one.
At the rear are HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.4a and VGA outputs for up to three displays, two USB 3.2 Gen2 and two USB 2.0 ports, mic-in and line-out audio, and two RS-232/422/485 COM ports on DB9 connectors. Networking pairs an Intel I219V GbE port with a Realtek RTL8125BG 2.5GbE port. Internal headers add two USB 3.2 Gen1 and two USB 2.0 ports, and an M.2 Key E socket takes an optional Wi-Fi module. There is a watchdog timer for unattended operation.
Power comes from a 24+4-pin ATX supply or a 12 V DC input, in AT or ATX mode. The board is rated from -20 °C to 70 °C in operation and -40 °C to 85 °C in storage, and carries CE and FCC marks. We supply the IMB-1242 with the processor, memory and storage fitted and tested, on its own or built into a complete system. The Q670 IMB-1238 steps up to DDR5, Intel vPro, four COM ports and a PCIe Gen5 slot, and the IMB-1244-WV adds a 12 to 28 V DC input with LVDS and eDP.
