DFI ADN173-CB-x7425E Intel Alder Lake-N Atom x7425E Mini-ITX Mainboard with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Dual 2.5GbE

Machine upgrades often keep the original VGA operator screen while adding a newer display and a network link. The ADN173-CB-x7425E suits that mix as the quad-core Atom member of the DFI ADN173 family of Mini-ITX mainboards, with VGA, DisplayPort and USB-C display outputs and a 9 to 36 V DC input that takes the machine’s own supply.

The Intel Atom x7425E is an Alder Lake-N processor with four cores at up to 3.4 GHz in a 12 W TDP. Intel UHD Graphics drive three independent displays and decode HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC in hardware, and one DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM takes up to 32 GB. The dual-core ADN173-CB-x7213E is the lower-power Atom option at 10 W, and the ADN173-CB-i3-N305 doubles the core count to eight for heavier workloads.

VGA reaches 2048 x 1536 at 60 Hz and DisplayPort 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, with the USB-C port adding DisplayPort Alt Mode and 15 W power delivery. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and four USB 2.0 headers handle peripherals, two Intel I226V 2.5GbE ports handle networking, and six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, four RS-232) plus an 8-bit DIO link to drives, scales and PLCs. The M.2 B-key with Nano SIM, M.2 E-key, two SATA 3.0 ports and a PCIe x4 slot at x2 Gen3 take storage, wireless and expansion.

The ADN173-CB-x7425E runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -5 to 65 °C on its passive heatsink. DFI quotes an MTBF of 455,085 hours at 25 °C for this build and lists CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS and KC compliance; supported operating systems are Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows 11 and Linux.
