DFI AL170-CB-N3350 Dual-Core Intel Celeron N3350 Mini-ITX SBC with Dual GbE and Triple Display

Thin clients, queue terminals and single-purpose kiosks run one application all day. They need dependable I/O and a quiet, fanless board more than processor headroom. The AL170-CB-N3350 is the entry build in the DFI AL170 series of Mini-ITX SBCs, pairing a dual-core Celeron with two DP++ outputs and an eDP connector for indoor sites.

The Intel Celeron N3350 (Apollo Lake) has two cores at 1.1 GHz, bursting to 2.4 GHz, within a 6 W TDP. It suits a browser, a terminal session or a simple HMI, and its low heat output keeps enclosure temperatures down. Two DDR3L 1866 MHz SO-DIMM slots take up to 8 GB, and Intel HD Graphics drives three independent displays across two DP++ outputs and an internal eDP connector, each up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz.

Two GbE ports on Intel I211AT controllers connect the terminal to the site network and a local device. Six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 on rear DB9, four RS-232 on internal headers) and 8-bit DIO suit receipt printers, scanners and indicator lamps. Four rear USB 3.0 ports and six internal USB 2.0 headers take touch and peripherals. Two SATA 3.0 ports, an M.2 M-key, a full-size Mini PCIe slot and a PCIe x1 Gen2 slot cover storage and expansion.

The AL170-CB-N3350 draws power from a 24-pin ATX supply and runs from 0 to 60 °C on a fanless heatsink. Where the application needs four cores on the same eDP layout, AL170-CB-N4200 brings the quad-core Pentium N4200 at the same 6 W. If the terminal sits outdoors, AL170-CT-E3930 is the dual-core build rated from -40 to 85 °C.
