The DFI CMS173 series is an industrial Mini-ITX motherboard for the LGA1200 socket on the Intel Q470E chipset, taking 10th Gen Intel Core, Pentium and Celeron processors at up to 65 W. It runs from a 15 to 36 V DC input and carries 12 rear USB 3.2 ports, dual GbE with Intel vPro, two DP++ outputs and three M.2 slots. The CMS173 series suits machine vision, control cabinets and 24 V equipment.
- 15 to 36 V DC Input: Runs from a 24 V machine or cabinet rail on a DC jack, sharing the supply with PLCs, drives and sensors.
- LGA1200 Socket up to 65 W: Takes 10th Gen Intel Core i3 to i9, Pentium and Celeron processors in 65 W E and 35 W TE versions.
- 12 Rear USB 3.2 Ports: Eight USB 3.2 Gen 2 and four further USB 3.2 ports at the rear for cameras, scanners and service tools.
- Dual GbE with vPro: GbE on Intel I219LM with vPro and AMT on vPro-capable processors, plus a second GbE port on Intel I211AT.
- Three M.2 and PCIe x16: M.2 E-key for Wi-Fi 6, M-key for NVMe, B-key with SIM holder for LTE or 5G, and a PCIe x16 slot.

CMS173 Description
Machines, automated test cells and control cabinets typically distribute 24 V, and a board that takes that rail directly saves a converter and the space it needs. The DFI CMS173 series is a socketed LGA1200 Mini-ITX board of 170 x 170 mm on the Intel Q470E chipset with a 15 to 36 V DC input, so it can run from the same supply as the PLC, drives and sensors around it.
CMS173 accepts 10th Gen Intel Core (Comet Lake) i9, i7, i5 and i3 processors, with four to ten cores, and two-core Pentium G6400E and Celeron G5900E and G5900TE parts, at up to 65 W TDP. A 35 W TE processor suits a closed cabinet; a 65 W E processor suits vision processing where the enclosure has airflow. Two DDR4 2933 MHz SO-DIMMs take up to 64 GB, and Intel UHD Graphics drives two DP++ outputs at 4K with hardware HEVC, VP9 and H.264 encode and decode.
CMS173-Q470E is the single build. At the rear it carries eight USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and four more USB 3.2 ports for cameras, scanners and service tools, two GbE ports on an Intel I219LM and an Intel I211AT, and an RS-232/422/485 port on a DB9. A second RS-232/422/485 port and 8-bit DIO sit on internal headers. The I219LM supports Intel vPro and AMT when a vPro-capable processor is fitted.
Expansion runs through three M.2 slots and a PCIe x16 slot with x8 Gen3 signaling. The M.2 E-key (2230) takes Wi-Fi 6 with Intel CNVi, the M-key (2280) takes an NVMe SSD at PCIe Gen3 x4 or a SATA drive, and the B-key (3042/3052) takes a 4G LTE or 5G module with its SIM holder, so a remote cabinet can report over cellular without an external router. Two SATA 3.0 ports support RAID 0 and 1, and DFI lists Intel Optane Memory support on the M-key.
Power arrives at 15 to 36 V DC on a DC jack. The board operates from -5 to 65 °C and carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance, an optional Infineon TPM, a watchdog programmable from 1 to 255 seconds and Realtek ALC888 audio. DFI lists Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2019 and Ubuntu 20.04. For a 12 V supply, the CMS171 series is the same board.
