DFI CMS103 Intel 10th Gen Core Thin Mini-ITX SBCs with 15 to 36 V DC Input and Triple LAN

Machine builders and cabinet designers usually have a 24 V rail already, and adding a separate 12 V converter for the computer costs space, wiring and another part to fail. The DFI CMS103 series takes that rail directly: a Thin Mini-ITX board of 170 x 170 mm, 16.3 mm tall on the top side, with a 15 to 36 V DC input and a socketed LGA1200 processor.

CMS103 boards accept 10th Gen Intel Core (Comet Lake) i9, i7, i5 and i3 processors with four to ten cores, as 65 W E or 35 W TE versions, so the processor can be matched to the cooling in the enclosure. Up to 64 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz fits in two SO-DIMMs. Intel UHD Graphics provides hardware HEVC, VP9 and H.264 encode and decode, two rear DP++ outputs at up to 4096 x 2304 and internal LVDS and eDP connectors, with three displays active at once.

Three chipset builds make up the range. CMS103-W480IB uses the Intel W480E and is the build for 35 W Xeon W-1290TE, W-1270TE and W-1250TE processors, alongside Core i3 to i9. CMS103-Q470IB uses the Q470E for the Core range plus two-core Pentium and Celeron parts. Both carry four rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10, and Intel vPro through the I219LM port. CMS103-H420IB uses the H420E, with an Intel I219V GbE controller and no AMT or vPro, four rear USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and PCIe x1 on the M.2 M-key.

Three RJ45 ports on every board carry one 2.5GbE link on an Intel I225LM and two GbE links, one on an Intel I210AT. Internal headers provide two RS-232/422/485 ports, two RS-232 ports, 8-bit DIO and four USB 2.0, and two SATA 3.0 ports sit beside three M.2 slots: E-key (2230) for Wi-Fi, B-key (2242/3042/3052) for a cellular module and M-key (2280) for an NVMe SSD. The PCIe x16 Gen3 slot supplies up to 75 W to an add-in card.

Power arrives at 15 to 36 V DC on a DC jack or a 4-pin connector. The boards operate from -5 to 65 °C, a standard range suited to indoor cabinets rather than outdoor enclosures, and carry CE, FCC, UKCA, UL, CB and RoHS compliance, fTPM with an optional discrete TPM 2.0 and a watchdog programmable from 1 to 255 seconds. DFI lists Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows 11 and Linux. For a 12 V supply, the CMS101 series is the same board.
