FCCCMS630-W480ECRM Overview
An inspection server that runs a GPU, a frame grabber and a legacy PCI card for months between restarts needs slots for all three and memory that corrects its own errors. The CMS630-W480ECRM is the W480E build of the CMS630 series, an ATX embedded motherboard with seven expansion slots that accepts Intel Xeon W-1200E processors and ECC DDR4.
The LGA1200 socket takes Xeon W-1290E, W-1270E and W-1250E processors at 95 W or 80 W, and their 35 W TE versions, plus 10th Gen Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 from the four-core i3-10100E to the 10-core i9-10900E, with DFI rating the socket up to 125 W. Pentium and Celeron are not supported on this chipset. Four DDR4 2933 MHz DIMM slots take up to 128 GB, with ECC on Xeon and Core i3. Intel UHD Graphics drives VGA, DP++ and HDMI as three independent displays, and Intel AMT supports remote management with Xeon, Core i5, i7 and i9.
Slots cover two PCIe x16 Gen3, running x16 or x8/x8, two PCIe x4 Gen3, a PCIe x4 slot with x1 signal and two PCI. Two M.2 M-key sockets take PCIe x4 Gen3 NVMe SSDs, one also SATA, with four SATA 3.0 ports for RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Rear I/O has two USB 3.2 Gen 2, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two GbE ports and an RS-232/422/485 DB-9, and headers add five more COM ports, 16-bit digital I/O and further USB.
The CMS630-W480ECRM runs from a standard ATX supply over 24-pin and 8-pin connectors across -5 to 65 °C, with optional TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer and CE, FCC, UKCA, KC, UL and RoHS compliance. If Xeon and ECC are not needed, the CMS630-Q470ECRM keeps the same slots and I/O on the Q470E chipset and adds Pentium and Celeron options.
