DFI CMS632 Intel Xeon W and 10th Gen Core Industrial ATX Motherboards with Dual M.2 M-Key and Seven Expansion Slots

Systems built mostly from PCIe cards, such as multi-camera vision, signal capture and test equipment, run short of x4 slots sooner than x16. The DFI CMS632 series is an industrial ATX motherboard on the 305 x 244 mm footprint with six PCIe slots and one PCI slot, and an LGA1200 socket for 10th Gen Intel Core (Comet Lake), so several NICs, capture cards or I/O boards can sit beside one or two GPUs.

The socket takes Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 processors in 65 W E and 35 W TE versions, from the four-core i3-10100E to the 10-core i9-10900E, and DFI rates it for processors up to 125 W TDP. Four DDR4 2933 MHz DIMM slots take up to 128 GB. Intel UHD Graphics drives VGA, DP++ up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and HDMI 1.4b as three independent displays, with hardware encode and decode for H.264, H.265 and VP9, and DFI lists Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows Server 2019 and Linux support.

The CMS632-W480ECRM uses the Intel W480E chipset and accepts Intel Xeon W-1200E processors up to the 95 W W-1290E, with ECC memory support on Xeon and Core i3 for systems that run for months between restarts. The CMS632-Q470ECRM uses the Q470E chipset with non-ECC memory and adds Pentium G6400E and Celeron G5900E and G5900TE options. Both support Intel AMT on Core i5, i7 and i9, and the W480E build on Xeon too.

Two PCIe x16 Gen3 slots run as x16 or x8/x8, with four PCIe x4 Gen3 slots and a PCI slot behind a PCIe-to-PCI bridge. Two of the x4 slots share lanes with the two M.2 M-key sockets and a jumper selects slot or M.2, so a build can trade two card slots for two PCIe x4 NVMe SSDs. Four SATA 3.0 ports support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The rear panel has two USB 3.2 Gen 2, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two GbE ports on Intel I219LM and I210AT controllers and an RS-232/422/485 DB-9, and headers add five more COM ports and 16-bit digital I/O.

Power comes from a standard ATX supply over 24-pin and 8-pin connectors, and the boards run from -5 to 65 °C in equipment rooms, test racks and indoor cabinets. Optional TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer programmable from 1 to 255 seconds support secure, unattended operation, and the CMS632 series carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance.
