DFI CS631-C246CRM Intel 8th and 9th Gen Core Industrial ATX Mainboard with C246 Chipset, Dual LAN and Seven Expansion Slots

A vision server that feeds several inspection stations, or a test system that records every measurement, is where a Xeon processor and ECC memory earn their place alongside a full set of cards. The CS631-C246CRM is the C246 build of the CS631 series, an industrial ATX mainboard that adds Xeon E and ECC memory to seven expansion slots and six COM ports.

The LGA1151 socket takes the four-core Xeon E-2124G at 71 W, the six-core E-2176G and E-2226GE at 80 W and the eight-core E-2278GEL at 35 W, alongside 8th and 9th Gen Core i3, i5 and i7, Pentium G5400 and Celeron G4900. Four DDR4 2666 MHz DIMM slots take up to 128 GB, with ECC on Xeon E, Core i3, Pentium and Celeron; Core i5 and i7 run non-ECC. Intel UHD Graphics drives VGA and two DP++ outputs as three displays, and Intel AMT works with Xeon, Core i5 and i7.

Expansion is two PCIe x16 slots, running as one x16 or two x8, three PCIe x4 Gen3 slots, a PCIe x1 Gen3 slot and a PCI slot, plus two full-size Mini PCIe slots. Storage covers an M.2 PCIe x2 Gen3 NVMe socket and five SATA 3.0 ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The rear panel has six USB Type-A ports, two of them USB 3.1 Gen 2, two GbE ports and an RS-232/422/485 DB-9, and headers add six USB ports, five COM ports and 8-bit digital I/O.

The CS631-C246CRM runs from a standard ATX supply over 24-pin and 8-pin connectors, with an active CPU cooler, from 0 to 60 °C, and carries CE, FCC and RoHS compliance. Where Core processors and non-ECC memory are enough, the CS631-Q370CRM keeps the same seven slots and I/O on the Q370 chipset.
