A test system that logs every result for audit, while still driving a legacy PCI instrument card, gains from ECC memory without giving up the old slot. The CS632-C246CRM is the C246 build of the CS632 series, an ATX industrial motherboard that adds Xeon E and ECC memory to two PCI slots, four PCIe Gen3 slots and six COM ports.
The LGA1151 socket takes the four-core Xeon E-2124G at 71 W, the six-core E-2176G and E-2226GE at 80 W and the eight-core E-2278GEL at 35 W, alongside 8th and 9th Gen Core i3, i5 and i7, Pentium G5400 and Celeron G4900. Four DDR4 2666 MHz DIMM slots take up to 128 GB, with ECC on Xeon E, Core i3, Pentium and Celeron; Core i5 and i7 run non-ECC. Intel UHD Graphics drives VGA and two DP++ outputs as three displays, and Intel AMT works with Xeon, Core i5 and i7.
Expansion is a PCIe x16 Gen3 slot, three PCIe x4 Gen3 slots and two PCI slots, with a two-slot x8/x8 layout available to order, plus a Mini PCIe slot. Storage covers an M.2 PCIe x4 NVMe socket and four SATA 3.0 ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The rear panel has four USB 3.1 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two GbE ports and an RS-232/422/485 DB-9, and headers add two USB 3.1 Gen 2, five USB 2.0, five COM ports and 8-bit digital I/O.
The CS632-C246CRM runs from a standard ATX supply over 24-pin and 8-pin connectors, with an active CPU cooler, from 0 to 60 °C, and carries CE, FCC and RoHS compliance. Where Core processors and non-ECC memory are enough, the CS632-Q370CRM keeps the same slots and serial ports on the Q370 chipset.
