DFI ED700-EHL-x6425E Intel Atom x6425E DIN Rail PC with 2.5GbE, 3x GbE and Extended Temperature

Gateways that sit between several machine cells and a plant network need more Ethernet ports than most small computers carry. The ED700-EHL-x6425E is the four-port build of the DFI ED700-EHL series: a fanless DIN rail PC with an Intel Atom x6425E, one 2.5GbE TSN port and three GbE ports, rated from -40 °C to 60 °C.

The Atom x6425E runs four Elkhart Lake cores within a 12 W TDP, the highest in the range, with Intel UHD Graphics, so it suits routing, firewall and protocol gateway software alongside data collection. Memory is 8 GB of DDR4 onboard plus one DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM, up to 32 GB in total, with in-band ECC available (disabled by default). Storage is 32 GB of eMMC plus an M.2 2280 SATA slot, and the ED700-EHL-x6425E runs Windows or Ubuntu 20.04 with UEFI boot.

Networking is one 2.5GbE TSN port and three Intel GbE ports on RJ45, with an Allxon OOB Enabler optional by request. USB is two USB 2.0 Type-A on top and two USB 3.1 Type-A on the front, and VGA drives one display at up to 2560×1600. Two RS-232/422/485 ports on DB9 handle PLCs, meters and drives. An M.2 3042/3052 B key slot with dual SIM takes an optional 5G Sub-6 or 4G module, and an M.2 2230 E key slot takes optional Wi-Fi 6.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a terminal block. DFI rates the ED700-EHL-x6425E from -40 °C to 60 °C, with 3G operating shock and random vibration to IEC 60068-2-64, and lists CE, FCC, RoHS and UKCA compliance. It mounts on a DIN rail or a wall, with two wall brackets in the box. We supply it configured and tested, with storage, the OS image and any 5G, 4G or Wi-Fi modules and antennas fitted before it ships. The ED700-EHL-x6413E trades a GbE port for two more USB ports, and the ED700-EHL22I-x6425RE adds isolated COM and DIO with four Ethernet ports.
