DFI GH171-R2544B AMD Ryzen Embedded R2544 Industrial Mini-ITX Motherboard with Dual GbE and Quad Display

Machine vision cells, protocol gateways and multi-screen control desks that run continuous workloads benefit from a processor that holds its clocks rather than bursting briefly. The GH171-R2544B carries the highest TDP in the GH171 series, a 54 W quad-core AMD Ryzen Embedded R2544, on the 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board.

The R2544 runs four cores and eight threads at 3.35 GHz with boost to 3.7 GHz and eight Radeon Vega compute units. Two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM slots take up to 32 GB. Four DP++ outputs drive independent displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, and the GPU decodes H.265, H.264 and VP9 in hardware and runs OpenCL for image pre-processing. Hardware encode for H.265 and H.264 also lets the board record or stream processed video.

Expansion is a PCIe x16 Gen3 slot at x8 signal, an M.2 M-key 2280 socket and two SATA 3.0 ports. For connections, the rear panel has two GbE ports on Realtek RTL8111HN controllers, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 port and audio, with four RS-232 headers, four USB 2.0 and a vertical USB 3.0 Type-A on the board.

Power is 12 V DC on a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack, and the GH171-R2544B runs from 0 to 60 °C with an active cooler, TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. DFI lists Windows 10 and Linux support, and a watchdog timer programmable from 1 to 255 seconds resets the board if the application stalls. For the same four displays at 35 W, the GH171-R2514B is the lower-heat choice; the GH171-V1807B gives 11 compute units at 45 W.
