DFI GH171-V1756B Quad-Core AMD Ryzen Embedded V1756B Industrial Mini-ITX Motherboard with Dual GbE and Quad Display

Control cabinets and kiosks that run a local database, a web interface and several serial devices at once benefit from sustained CPU clocks more than extra graphics. The GH171-V1756B is the quad-core 45 W V1000 build in the GH171 series, on a 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board that fits standard industrial enclosures.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded V1756B runs four cores and eight threads at 3.25 GHz, boosting to 3.6 GHz, with eight Radeon Vega compute units. Memory runs to 32 GB of DDR4 3200 in two SO-DIMM slots. Four DP++ outputs drive independent displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, and hardware decode covers H.265, H.264 and VP9 for video content.

Six COM ports suit machines with several serial devices: an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 port at the rear, and four RS-232 ports on internal headers. Two GbE ports use Realtek RTL8111HN controllers, and USB runs to three USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 ports across the rear panel and internal connectors. Expansion is a PCIe x16 Gen3 slot at x8 signal, an M.2 M-key 2280 socket at PCIe x4 Gen3 and two SATA 3.0 ports.

The GH171-V1756B takes 12 V DC through a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack and operates from 0 to 60 °C with an active cooler, TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. DFI lists Windows 10 and Linux support, and the watchdog can be programmed from 1 to 255 seconds to reset a stalled application.
