DFI HPT171 AMD Ryzen 8000 Hawk Point Mini-ITX Motherboards with Dual 2.5GbE and up to Quad Display

Gaming cabinets, vending machines and self-service kiosks share a set of needs that a general-purpose board rarely meets in one place: several screens, a coin or note acceptor on ccTalk, a handful of TTL-level serial devices and enough graphics to run a smooth interface. The DFI HPT171 series brings those together on a standard 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board, using AMD Ryzen Embedded 8000 processors (Hawk Point) with integrated Radeon graphics.

Four processors cover two power classes. The 45 W Ryzen 7 8845HS and Ryzen 5 8645HS are configurable from 35 to 54 W, and the 28 W Ryzen 7 8840U and Ryzen 5 8640U from 15 to 30 W. The Ryzen 7 parts have eight cores and 16 threads with Radeon 780M graphics; the Ryzen 5 parts have six cores and 12 threads with Radeon 760M. Two DDR5 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 96 GB at 4800 MHz, and the RDNA3 graphics drive each DisplayPort at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz.

The builds split by display layout. HPT171-CB-8845HS and HPT171-CB-8840U have three DP++ outputs and an M.2 A-key socket for a DFI display module, which adds a fourth screen on LVDS, eDP, HDMI, DP or VGA. HPT171-CB-8645HS and HPT171-CB-8640U have four DP++ outputs and a vertical USB 2.0 Type-A port inside in place of the A-key. The choice is cores, power class and whether the fourth screen is a DisplayPort monitor or a built-in panel.

Networking is two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226. Rear USB is two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, with further USB 2.0 ports on internal headers. Serial is one RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port on DB9, plus two TTL and two ccTalk headers, and there is an 8-bit DIO header. A PCIe x16 slot with eight Gen4 lanes takes a capture card or accelerator, and storage is an M.2 2280 M-key socket (PCIe Gen4 x4 or SATA) plus two SATA ports, one shared with the M.2. Audio uses a Realtek ALC888S with a 3 W amplifier and S/PDIF.

Power is 12 V DC on a barrel connector or 4-pin connector. The HPT171 series operates from -5 to 65 °C, a standard indoor range, with CE, FCC and RoHS compliance, a discrete TPM 2.0 and a 1 to 255 second watchdog. DFI lists support for Windows 11 22H2, Windows 11 LTSC and Ubuntu 22.04.
