An operator terminal or thin client on a production line has to open its interface quickly without the heat load of a 12 W processor in a small, closed housing. The GHF51-BN-46R13 is the middle build of the DFI GHF51 series, a 1.8″ Femto-ITX single board computer that balances clock speed against power for HMIs, gateways and remote desktop clients.
The AMD Ryzen Embedded R1305G runs at 1.5 GHz with a 10 W TDP. AMD Radeon Vega graphics with three compute units render the interface and handle H.265 encode and decode and VP9 decode in hardware. Memory is 4 GB of single-channel DDR4 at 2400 MHz, soldered to the board alongside 64 GB of eMMC for the operating system and application. DFI lists Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux, and a firmware TPM 2.0 is included.
One GbE port on an Intel I211AT controller links the terminal to the line network or a remote desktop server, and the USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port takes a touch controller or scanner. Two HDMI 1.4b outputs run at up to 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz. A full-size mini PCIe socket can take a Wi-Fi module, and an 8-bit DIO header connects a stack light or start button.
The GHF51-BN-46R13 runs from 12 V DC on a terminal block, cools through a passive heatsink and operates from 0 to 60 °C, with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. For the lowest power, the GHF51-BN-46R11 runs at 6 W, while the GHF51-BN-86R16 pairs the 2.6 GHz R1606G with 8 GB of memory for heavier software.
