DFI KU551-BN-7600U 3.5″ SBC with 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7600U, Triple Display and Dual Intel GbE

Heavier graphical, vision or analysis software on a compact board needs the quickest processor the layout allows. The KU551-BN-7600U is the Core i7-7600U build in the DFI KU551 series: a fanless 3.5 inch SBC with three independent displays, two Intel GbE ports and two RS-232/422/485 ports, rated 0 to 60 °C.

The Intel Core i7-7600U is a 7th Gen dual-core processor at 2.8 GHz base and 3.9 GHz turbo with 4 MB cache in 15 W, the fastest KU551 option for heavier graphical or analysis software. One DDR4 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB of single-channel DDR4-1866 or 2133. Intel HD Graphics drives three independent displays: VGA at up to 1920 x 1200, dual-channel 48-bit LVDS or eDP at up to 1920 x 1200 for a built-in panel, and DP++ at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz.

The rear edge carries two GbE ports, one on an Intel I210AT and one on an Intel I219LM with iAMT 11.6 for remote management, plus four USB 3.0 ports, VGA and DP++. Internal headers add two RS-232/422/485 ports, two USB 2.0, 8-bit DIO, one SATA 3.0 port and Realtek ALC888 audio. Expansion is a full-size Mini PCIe socket and an M.2 2242 B key with PCIe, USB 2.0 and SATA signals, with an extension I/O connector on request. The KU551-EN-7600U is the same Core i7-7600U build rated -20 to 70 °C, and the KU551-BN-7300U is the Core i5-7300U build where less processing is needed.

Power is a single 12 V DC input (±5%) on a 4-pin right-angle connector, with a DC jack or vertical 4-pin connector on request. DFI quotes 10.8 W idle and 38.5 W maximum for the i7-7600U. The KU551-BN-7600U is a fanless build rated 0 to 60 °C, supplied with a 25.8 mm heatsink, and storage is rated -40 to 85 °C. Firmware TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer are on board. The board measures 146 x 102 mm, supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit, Linux and Yocto, and carries CE, FCC, RoHS and UL marks.
