DFI RC300H-CS-UPS Intel Core i7-9700TE Railway Computer with UPS and Ampere or Turing MXM GPU

A recorder that loses power mid-write can corrupt the footage an incident review needs, and train supplies drop during changeovers and faults. The RC300H-CS-UPS is the battery backup build of the DFI RC300-CS series, with an RTX 3000 MXM GPU and a UPS battery kit that holds the system up for at least five minutes at up to 300 W.

Compute is the Intel Core i7-9700TE, eight cores at 1.8 GHz with a 35 W TDP, on the Q370 chipset and DFI’s CST51-Q370T board. Memory is 2 x 8 GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM, expandable to 64 GB, with TPM 2.0, and Intel UHD 630 graphics drive VGA, HDMI and DP++. The RC300H-CS-UPS supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, as DFI states, and Ubuntu 18.04. The MXM slot on PCIe 3.0 x16 takes modules of up to 115 W without an active fan, and this build ships with an NVIDIA RTX 3000.

Networking is two GbE ports on RJ45 plus four GbE ports on M12 X-code with 802.3af PoE at 15.4 W per port, with Intel AMT on the I219LM. Other I/O covers two RS-232/422/485 ports on DB9, 8-bit isolated DI and DO at 2 kV, four USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports and three SIM sockets. Mini PCIe and M.2 slots take Wi-Fi, LTE and 5G modules, with seven SMA antenna holes. The battery kit takes two bay positions, leaving two lockable, swappable 2.5 inch SSD bays and an M.2 2280 slot.

Shock and vibration are tested to EN 61373 Category 1, EMC to EN 50121-3-2 and fire protection to EN 45545, and the RC300H-CS-UPS is designed to EN 50155 requirements. Power is 110 V DC nominal, 77 to 137.5 V DC, on a six-pin terminal block, and DFI publishes CE, FCC and UKCA declarations for this build. It runs from -25 °C to 70 °C below 100 W of combined CPU and GPU load. It wall mounts. We supply it configured and tested, with SSDs, the OS image and any wireless modules fitted. Without the battery, the RC300H-CS111 keeps four SSD bays, and the RC300H-CS122 adds 32 GB.
