DFI RPP051-BTD-U300E Intel Processor U300E Pico-ITX Motherboard with 2.5GbE, DP and eDP

Digital signage players, thin clients and simple controllers rarely need ten cores, but they do need a current processor, modern video decode and a small, silent board. The RPP051-BTD-U300E is the entry build of the DFI RPP051 series, a 2.5″ Pico-ITX motherboard with a five-core 13th Gen processor and passive cooling on a 100 x 72 mm board.

The Intel Processor U300E is a Raptor Lake part with five cores and six threads at a 15 W TDP, running from 1.1 GHz up to 4.3 GHz. Intel UHD graphics decodes AV1, HEVC, VP9, AVC and MJPEG in hardware, so a signage player can handle high-resolution content with the cores left free for scheduling and content management. A single DDR5 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 32 GB at 4800 MHz.

DP++ runs a display at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz and eDP a second panel at up to 4096 x 2160. The Intel I226IT 2.5GbE port handles content updates and remote access, with Wi-Fi in the M.2 E-key socket, or a 4G or 5G modem with nano SIM in an M.2 B-key socket where there is no wired network. Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two internal USB 2.0 ports, an RS-232/422/485 port and 8-bit DIO cover the remaining peripherals, and the second B-key socket takes PCIe x2 or SATA storage.

Power is 12 V DC on a terminal block, and the board operates from -5 to 65 °C with its passive heatsink, suiting indoor displays and cabinets. It supports Windows 11, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux, with TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC, UKCA, KC and RoHS compliance. The RPP051-ETD-U300E carries the same processor rated for wide temperature operation from -30 to 80 °C, and the RPP051-BTD-1315UE adds a sixth core and a higher clock.
