DFI RPP171-IB-U300E Intel Processor U300E Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with Triple 2.5GbE and Triple Display

Kiosks, signage players and simple machine controllers rarely need ten cores, but they still benefit from DDR5, several displays and fast networking on a standard board size. The RPP171-IB-U300E is the Intel Processor U300E build in the DFI RPP171 series of Mini-ITX motherboards, and it carries the full I/O of the Core builds.

The Intel Processor U300E (13th Gen Raptor Lake) has five cores at up to 4.3 GHz and a TDP of up to 28 W. Two DDR5 5200 MHz SO-DIMMs take up to 64 GB in dual channel. Intel UHD Graphics drives two DP++ outputs at up to 4096 x 2304 and 60 Hz and a third display over USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, so a kiosk can run a touch screen, a customer display and a signage panel from one board. DFI’s optional M2A module on the M.2 A-key adds an eDP, LVDS, VGA, HDMI or DP output.

Three 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226V and I226LM controllers keep a back-office network apart from the public or site network. Four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, two RS-232), 8-bit DIO, four rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and four internal USB 2.0 headers cover printers, card readers and sensors. An M.2 M-key runs NVMe at PCIe Gen4 x4, the B-key takes a cellular module with its SIM slot, the E-key takes Wi-Fi, and a PCIe x4 Gen4 slot and two SATA ports add a card or drives.

The RPP171-IB-U300E runs from 12 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -5 to 65 °C with an active cooler and carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance and support for Windows 11 and Linux. For more cores at the same temperature, choose RPP171-IB-1315UE; for a -20 to 70 °C cabinet, RPP171-IE-1345UE is the ten-core wide temperature option.
