DFI VC500-CMS-Q Intel Core i9 to i3 10th Gen Rugged Embedded Computer with 9-50V DC and 5x COM

Dispatch terminals, mapping systems and vehicle control computers usually need a fast processor, plenty of serial ports and storage that can be swapped, but no camera ports. The VC500-CMS-Q is that build of the DFI VC500-CMS series: a rugged embedded computer with 10th Gen Intel Core processors, five COM ports, isolated DIO and 9 to 50 V DC on a terminal block.

DFI offers the Core i9-10900TE, i7-10700TE, i5-10500TE or i3-10100TE, all at 35 W on the Intel Q470E chipset. Memory is DDR4-2933 on two SO-DIMMs, up to 64 GB. Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives HDMI and two DP++ outputs at up to 4096×2304 for three displays, and the Intel I219LM port supports Intel AMT on Core i7 and i5 for remote management. The VC500-CMS-Q runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise or Ubuntu 20.04, and a 3-axis accelerometer reports motion and free-fall events.

Two GbE ports on RJ45 (Intel I219LM and I210IT), four RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port on DB9, line-out, mic-in, line-in and three accessible SIM slots are standard. Eight USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and 8-bit isolated DI and DO at 2 kV on two DB15 connectors complete the panel, with two CAN ports and a DFI out-of-band RJ45 port as options. Two swappable 2.5″ SATA bays with lock support RAID 0/1, an M.2 2280 slot (PCIe Gen3 x4) takes an NVMe boot drive, and M.2 B-key, M.2 E-key and mini PCIe slots take optional 5G, Wi-Fi or CAN modules, with dTPM 2.0 built in.

Power is 9 to 50 V DC with ignition and on/off delay management on a three-pin terminal block. The VC500-CMS-Q runs fanless from -20 °C to 70 °C (without turbo boost, DFI notes), is shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G and wall mounts; DFI lists FCC, E-Mark (E24) compliance, CE, RoHS and UKCA.
