DFI X6-ORN-NN4-PoE NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 4GB Compact Edge AI Box PC with 2x PoE GbE

A camera or sensor at the edge of a site usually needs a cable for power as well as data. The DFI X6-ORN-NN4-PoE removes the second cable for up to two devices: two of its four GbE ports deliver up to 15 W of PoE each. It is the Orin Nano 4GB PoE edge AI box PC in the X6-ORN series, with the entry point to the range.

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 4GB module combines a 64-bit Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU with a 512-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU with 16 Tensor Cores rated at 20 TOPS and 4 GB of 64-bit LPDDR5 at 34 GB/s, running at 7 to 10 W module power. That suits a single lightweight model, sensor fusion or a pilot rollout, and the X6-ORN-NN4-PoE runs Ubuntu 22.04 with a watchdog timer built into the Jetson module. An M.2 2242/2280 M-key slot on PCIe x4 takes an NVMe SSD for models, logs and recorded video.

Four RJ45 GbE ports run from separate Intel i210 controllers, and two of them supply 15 W PoE. Alongside sit four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a micro USB port for OS flashing, HDMI, a DB-9 combining RS-232 and CAN bus, a second DB-9 with four digital inputs and four outputs, and mic-in and line-out. An M.2 E-key 2230 slot takes Wi-Fi 6E, an M.2 B-key 3042/3052 slot takes 5G or LTE with a nano SIM, and six antenna holes are provided. Out-of-band (OOB) management is optional.

The edge AI box PC is fanless, takes 9 to 36 V DC on a terminal block and runs from -20 to 60 °C. DFI tests it to IEC 60068-2-27 for shock and IEC 60068-2-64 for vibration, and it carries CE, FCC Class A and RoHS. At about 165 x 65 x 150 mm and 1.98 kg it mounts on a wall with the supplied brackets, or on DIN rail with the optional kit. The X6-ORN-NN4 is the same edge AI box PC without PoE, and the X6-ORN-NN8-PoE moves to the Orin Nano 8GB module.
