ZIG-BB01 Overview
Small Jetson designs that also read sensors or drive actuators usually need a separate I/O board beside the carrier. The ZIG-BB01 is the standard Diamond Systems ZIGGY mini carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson TX2 and TX2i, supplied without a module, with data acquisition built on to a board the same footprint as the module.
The data acquisition circuit gives six analog inputs at 12-bit resolution with a 0-3.3 V range and up to 1 MSPS throughput, two 12-bit analog outputs at 0-3.3 V and 12 digital I/O lines at 3.3 V logic. Diamond’s Linux BSP includes a driver and programming library for these channels, plus a GUI for real-time control, so sensors, temperature control loops and switches can connect straight to the Jetson. The ZIG-BB02 is the same carrier without the data acquisition circuit.
Alongside the DAQ, the ZIG-BB01 brings out the most-used Jetson I/O: one 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera input, one Gigabit Ethernet port on RJ-45, one HDMI output, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 Type-A port, a micro USB port with OTG and two RS-232 serial ports. The Jetson TX2 suits development and evaluation, and the TX2i is the module NVIDIA rates for industrial temperatures.
Diamond Systems rates the ZIGGY board from -40 to +85 °C. The Jetson TX2 is rated from -25 to +80 °C and the TX2i from -40 to +85 °C, so the module choice sets the range of the finished build. The datasheet gives a 9-18 V DC input with the TX2 and 5.5-18 V DC with the TX2i, and Diamond’s manual states the ZIG-BB01 is designed to meet MIL-STD-202G shock and vibration conditions.

Official Diamond Systems USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Diamond Systems USA distributor, and the ZIG-BB01 is the ZIGGY carrier with data acquisition on board. The ZIGGYBOX houses the same board and module in a small enclosure, and the FLOYD carrier takes the later Jetson Nano, Xavier NX and TX2 NX modules.
The ZIG-BB01 sits with our Jetson TX2 range and the wider NVIDIA Jetson carrier boards we supply.
