DSBOX-THRMAX-T5000 Overview
Humanoid robots and autonomous machines now run perception, planning and language models together, and those models need memory as much as compute. The DSBOX-THRMAX-T5000 is the industrial box PC from the Forecr DSBOX-THRMAX series that carries the NVIDIA Jetson T5000, the larger Jetson Thor module, with 128 GB of LPDDR5X.
The Jetson T5000 is the module which Forecr rates at 2070 FP4 TFLOPS (sparse), with 128 GB of 256-bit LPDDR5X to keep several large models and their sensor buffers resident at once. At its MAXN setting, Forecr’s manual gives the T5000 build a draw of 164 W at 24 V, so the fan kit suits sustained full-power work. Where the models fit in 64 GB, the DSBOX-THRMAX-T4000 fits the T4000 module in the same industrial box PC, and the DSBOARD-THRMAX carrier board carries the same modules for custom enclosures.
On the DSBOX-THRMAX-T5000, a QSFP28 port carries four 25GbE links beside a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port, with two HDMI 2.1 outputs, two USB 3.2 Type-C ports and a USB-C debug port. A pluggable terminal block carries an RS-232/422/485 port, two CAN bus ports with CAN FD support, two digital inputs and three digital outputs rated for 11-60 V. Storage is an M.2 Key-M 2280 slot at PCIe Gen5 x4 and an M.2 Key-M 2242 slot at PCIe Gen5 x2. Eight GMSL2 cameras on two Quad FAKRA connectors are a factory option, as are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE and 5G.
Power is 18-32 V DC on a six-pin Phoenix Contact connector, and the 225 x 135 x 83 mm industrial box PC operates from -25 to +55 °C. Its finned aluminum enclosure cools without a fan, with a fan kit for sustained MAXN work, and a DIN-rail clip mounts it in a cabinet. A TPM 2.0 chip, an IMU and a temperature sensor are built in, and Forecr lists Ubuntu 24.04 with JetPack 7.x. The DSBOX-THRMAX-T5000 industrial box PC suits humanoid robots, autonomous vehicles and multi-camera vision where the 128 GB tier sets the requirement.
