Forecr RAIBOX-ORNX-AB NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB EN 50155 Computer with IP67 Sealing

In the Forecr RAIBOX-ORNX series, the RAIBOX-ORNX-AB carries the Jetson Orin NX 16GB, twice the memory of the 8GB model, for larger vision models and more concurrent camera streams. This EN 50155 computer with IP67 sealing suits onboard monitoring, camera analytics and rail gateways on rolling stock.

  • Jetson Orin NX 16GB: The 16GB Orin NX module, behind Forecr’s 100 TOPS figure for the series, holds larger models and several camera streams at once.
  • Four GMSL Cameras: 4x GMSL inputs on FAKRA connectors feed onboard or exterior cameras into the module for multi-stream vision on the train.
  • Isolated Field I/O: 2x isolated CAN bus, 2x isolated RS-232/422/485 and 4-in/4-out isolated digital I/O on A-coded M12 link the computer to train systems.
  • Dual GbE and Wireless: Two Gigabit Ethernet ports on X-coded M12, M.2 Key-B with a SIM slot for LTE or 5G, and M.2 Key-E for WiFi and Bluetooth.
  • EN 50155, IP67, 10-75V DC: Designed to meet EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 with IP67 protection, -25°C to +85°C operation and a 10-75V DC input.

RAIBOX-ORNX-AB Overview

Train control and monitoring systems increasingly pull several camera feeds into one onboard unit, and the AI models behind them keep growing. The RAIBOX-ORNX-AB handles that load with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB inside an EN 50155 computer from the Forecr RAIBOX-ORNX series, rated IP67 for onboard installation.

The 16GB module in the RAIBOX-ORNX-AB doubles the memory of the 8GB Orin NX in the RAIBOX-ORNX-AA, leaving room for larger detection models and several streams processed together. The 100 TOPS figure quoted for the series comes from this module, and the computer runs Ubuntu 20.04 with JetPack 5.1 while drawing under 40 W.

Four GMSL camera inputs on FAKRA connectors take the camera feeds, and two Gigabit Ethernet ports carry network traffic. Two isolated CAN bus ports, two isolated RS-232/422/485 ports and four isolated digital inputs and outputs connect to vehicle systems, with one USB 3.1 Type-A port, one USB 3.1 Type-C port and an HDMI 2.0 output for local access. Every field connector is a Phoenix Contact M12: X-coded for both Ethernet ports and A-coded for power, serial, CAN and digital I/O. Two M.2 Key-M slots hold SSDs, an M.2 Key-B socket with a SIM slot adds LTE or 5G, an M.2 Key-E socket takes WiFi and Bluetooth, and power comes from a 10-75V DC input.

Forecr designs the RAIBOX-ORNX-AB to meet EN 50155 and EN 45545-2, with IP67 ingress protection and resistance to shock, vibration and electromagnetic interference. It operates from -25°C to +85°C in a 275 x 200 x 75 mm enclosure, which suits this EN 50155 computer to onboard monitoring, train control support, secure railway gateways and marine or agricultural vehicles.

Official Forecr USA Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Forecr USA distributor, and the RAIBOX-ORNX-AB is the 16GB Orin NX model in Forecr's railway line, aimed at larger models and several camera streams. The RAIBOX-AGX steps up to Jetson AGX Orin with eight GMSL2 inputs for heavier camera loads, the DSBOARD-ORNX carrier board suits Orin NX projects with their own enclosure, and the MILBOX-ORNX takes the module into a rugged compact computer for military-grade work. All of them run NVIDIA JetPack, so applications move between them with little rework.

Across our catalog, the RAIBOX-ORNX-AB belongs among our EN 50155 railway computers for rolling-stock duty and our Jetson Orin NX computers for on-device vision with the larger 16GB module. Its IP67 rating also places it with our IP67 computers for installs exposed to dust and water, from carriage equipment bays to trackside and marine settings. Its four GMSL camera inputs and isolated CAN, serial and digital I/O cover onboard camera and control wiring in one sealed unit.
