FLYC-300-JON8 Overview
Not every drone payload needs the largest module: navigation, obstacle avoidance and object tracking on a few cameras can often fit in 8 GB, and every gram saved goes back into flight time. The FLYC-300-JON8 is the board-level 8GB build in the Neousys FLYC-300 series: a drone companion computer on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 8GB, 297 g on its heat spreader, mounted directly to the airframe and powered from the pack.
The Orin NX 8GB system-on-module pairs an NVIDIA Ampere GPU with Arm Cortex CPU cores and 8 GB of LPDDR5 at 3200 MHz. Neousys designed the FLYC-300 to work alongside the flight controller that stabilizes and steers the aircraft, while the companion computer handles perception, navigation and data, and the FLYC-300-JON8 keeps the full I/O of the 16GB build at a lower memory tier.
Two GMSL2 FAKRA Z inputs take two 1920 x 1080 cameras at 60 FPS or two 2880 x 1860 cameras at 30 FPS, one GbE and one 2.5GbE port carry IP cameras, LiDAR or radar, and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port cover USB sensors. Internal UART, CAN 2.0, I2C and isolated 2x DI and 4x DO connect the flight controller, an M.2 2230 NVMe socket on PCIe Gen4 x4 and a micro SD slot hold the image and captured data, and an M.2 B key socket with micro SIM accepts a 4G or 5G module. The same 8GB module inside an enclosure with three antenna holes is the FLYC-300-EC-JON8, and the FLYC-300-JON16 is the board-level build with 16 GB.
An XT-30 connector accepts 12 V to 60 V DC, covering 4S to 14S battery packs. The FLYC-300-JON8 operates from -25 °C to 40 °C without heat spreader attachment, to 60 °C when the heat spreader is secured to an aluminum surface, and to 70 °C on that mount with 4S to 6S packs; sub-zero operation needs a wide temperature SSD, and an optional 65 x 65 mm fan is available. Vibration and shock are tested in operation to MIL-STD-810H, with EN 62368-1 safety and CE and FCC Class A EMC, so this drone companion computer suits inspection, imagery collection and autonomous navigation payloads.

Official Neousys USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Neousys USA distributor, and the FLYC-300 is the airborne member of the Neousys Jetson range. On the ground, the NRU-150-FT series puts the Orin NX into a fanless edge AI computer with a flattop heatsink for sealed enclosures, and the NRU-160-FT is a robotics computer on Orin NX or Orin Nano with six GMSL2 cameras or four PoE+ ports.
Across our categories, the FLYC-300-JON8 sits among our NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX computers and our AI inference computers. Where the perception stack fits in 8 GB and the airframe supplies the shelter, this is the board-level build to shortlist.
