Nexcom NISE 109-E01 Intel Atom x6211E Wide Temperature Embedded Box PC with 9-30 V DC and 4x COM

Cabinets on outdoor sites, in cold stores or in unheated plant rooms see temperatures that many compact computers are not rated for. The NISE 109-E01 is the wide temperature Embedded Box PC in the Nexcom NISE 109 series, rated from -20 °C to 70 °C with a dual-core Intel Atom x6211E, four COM ports and a 9 V to 30 V input. For heavier applications in milder conditions, its sibling is the NISE 109-E02.

The Intel Atom x6211E is an Elkhart Lake processor running at 1.3 GHz. One DDR4 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB with in-band ECC support, and storage is a 2.5 inch SATA III SSD plus an M.2 2242 Key B or B+M module, so the operating system and logged data can sit on separate drives. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux are supported on the NISE 109-E01.

Serial is the strength here: two RS232/422/485 ports with auto flow control, set in the BIOS without jumpers, and two RS232 ports. Two Intel I210-IT GbE ports support Wake on LAN, teaming and PXE, and Nexcom lists EtherCAT support. There are three USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 1.4 and DP 1.4 outputs, line-out and mic-in. A mini-PCIe socket with an onboard SIM holder takes Wi-Fi, 3.5G or 4G LTE, with two antenna holes on the NISE 109-E01.

Power is 9 V to 30 V DC through a three-pin connector, with ATX mode and a remote power switch header. This Embedded Box PC has an aluminum and metal fanless case of 185 x 131 x 54 mm, is rated to 50 G shock with M.2 storage and 2 Grms vibration, and carries CE approval to EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 plus FCC Class A.
