Nexcom X300 Mini-ITX Motherboards for 8th and 9th Gen Intel Core with Triple Display

Kiosks, signage players and gaming cabinets often run for years, and a socketed processor lets the build match its CPU to the software and change it later without a new board. The Nexcom X300 series is a Mini-ITX motherboard with an LGA1151 socket for 8th and 9th Gen Intel Core processors, offered on a Q370 or H310 chipset to suit either a multi-screen player or a panel-based kiosk.

Every X300 shares the socket, memory and core I/O. Nexcom lists Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 processors from the 8th Gen Coffee Lake and 9th Gen Coffee Lake Refresh families, from the i3-8100T to the i9-9900T, all with Intel UHD Graphics 630. Two 260-pin DDR4-2400/2666 non-ECC SO-DIMM sockets take up to 32 GB. I/O covers two Gigabit Ethernet ports on Intel i219-LM and i211-AT controllers with PXE boot and wake on LAN, four USB 3.0 ports on the edge, one RS-232/422/485 and two RS-232 ports, 4-in/4-out GPIO, Realtek ALC3251 audio, a watchdog timer and an onboard TPM 2.0 IC. Both builds have an M.2 2230 Key E socket for a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module.

The X-300-Q370 drives three HDMI 2.0 outputs at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, adds a PCIe x16 slot, an M.2 2280 Key M socket for SATA or PCIe NVMe SSDs, a SATA 6 Gb/s port that takes a SATA-DOM and six USB 2.0 on headers. The X-300-H310 has two HDMI 2.0 outputs plus a dual-channel LVDS connector up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz in place of the PCIe x16 slot, an M.2 Key M socket for a SATA SSD and four USB 2.0 on headers, which suits a kiosk with its own built-in panel.

Power is +12 V DC only, through a DC jack on the edge or a 4-pin right-angle connector, with AT or ATX mode set by jumper. The series operates from 0 to 60 °C and handles humidity up to 95%, non-condensing. The boards measure 170 x 170 mm in the standard Mini-ITX size, and Nexcom offers a matching CPU cooler and bracket. They meet CE under EN 55032 and EN 55024 and carry an FCC Class A mark under Part 15B. Nexcom names kiosks, digital signage, gaming and gateways as target applications for the X300.
