Nexcom X302-Q370 Mini-ITX Motherboard for 8th/9th Gen Intel Core with Q370 and Six COM Ports

Test rigs and measurement machines talk to instruments over serial and show results on a local panel, so the board needs plenty of COM ports and a shock rating. The X302-Q370 is the Q370 build in the Nexcom X302 series: a Mini-ITX motherboard with an LGA1151 socket for 8th and 9th Gen Intel Core processors and six COM ports.

Nexcom lists 8th and 9th Gen Core i3, i5 and i7 processors from the 35 W i3-8100T to the 65 W i7-9700, all with Intel UHD Graphics 630. Two DDR4-2666 non-ECC SO-DIMM sockets take up to 32 GB. VGA runs at up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz and HDMI 1.4 at up to 4096 x 2160 at 30 Hz on the edge, and an internal dual-channel LVDS connector drives a panel at up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz, with eDP by request.

Serial I/O is the standout: three RS-232/422/485 ports on DB9 connectors at the edge and three RS-232 ports on internal headers with 5 V or 12 V set by jumper. The rest covers two Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 3.0 on the edge and six USB 2.0 internally, 8-channel GPIO, Realtek ALC888 audio, a watchdog timer and an onboard TPM 2.0 IC, with Intel AMT support. Expansion is a PCIe x16 slot, M.2 Key E for Wi-Fi and M.2 Key B with a SIM holder for an SSD or LTE module, plus two SATA ports. The X302-H310 is the H310 build with three internal USB 2.0.

Power is +12 V DC on an ATX 4-pin connector, with AT or ATX mode set by jumper. The X302-Q370 operates from -5 to 60 °C, stores from -20 to 80 °C and handles humidity up to 95%, non-condensing. It is tested to 50 G peak shock for 11 ms under IEC 60068-2-27 and to 2 Grms random and 2 G sinusoidal vibration at 5 to 500 Hz. The board is 170 x 170 mm, Windows 10 64-bit and Linux are supported, and it carries CE approval and an FCC Class A mark.
