Premio RCO-1000-ASL-X7835RE-20 Intel Atom x7835RE Rugged Compact PC with 2x EDGEBoost I/O Slots and -40 to 70 °C

When a project may need more serial, USB or isolated digital I/O later, spare module brackets avoid a hardware change. The Premio RCO-1000-ASL-X7835RE-20 is the Atom x7835RE two-bracket EDGEBoost I/O build of the RCO-1000-ASL series, a fanless rugged compact PC with dual 2.5GbE and a -40 °C to 70 °C rating.

The Intel Atom x7835RE is an eight-core, 12 W Amston Lake processor running at up to 3.6 GHz, giving more headroom for several services, though Premio notes it may throttle under extreme sustained loads. One DDR5 4800 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB with In-Band ECC supported. Storage runs from an internal 2.5-inch SATA drive bay and an M.2 B-Key socket that takes a 4G or 5G module, an AI module or a SATA SSD. TPM 2.0 and a watchdog are built in, and Windows 11 and Linux (Ubuntu 22.04) are supported.

Two Intel I226 2.5GbE ports support Wake-on-LAN and PXE. There are three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and one USB 2.0, a 4K DisplayPort and an HDMI 1.4b output for dual displays, two RS-232/422/485 COM ports, two internal CAN 2.0 A/B headers, and mic-in and line-out. An M.2 E-Key socket takes optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and two external SIM sockets serve an optional 4G or 5G module. Two EDGEBoost I/O brackets take optional COM, USB, or DisplayPort or HDMI with isolated DIO modules, so serial, USB and display needs can be mixed.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a terminal block with AT and ATX modes, with optional ignition management and an optional AC/DC adapter. The RCO-1000-ASL-X7835RE-20 is designed to comply with MIL-STD-810H for shock and vibration, UL listed to UL 62368-1 and wall mounted, with side, VESA and DIN-rail kits optional. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, storage, the OS image and any wireless or EDGEBoost modules fitted. The RCO-1000-ASL-X7433RE-20 uses the same build with the four-core 9 W Atom x7433RE, and the RCO-1000-ASL-X7835RE-30 adds a third EDGEBoost I/O bracket.
