Sintrones IBOX-601-M12X-01-ONX16 NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB Railway Computer with M12 LAN and 4x GMSL-2 Cameras on VDB-101 Board

Camera choice is the reason to pick the IBOX-601-M12X-01-ONX16. Its VDB-101 deserialiser board widens the supported camera list in the Sintrones IBOX-601-M12X series to e-con Systems and StereoLabs models as well as oToBrite, and the Jetson Orin NX 16GB gives the memory for stereo depth or high-resolution streams. It is a fanless railway computer for rolling stock, buses and road vehicles.

Compute is the Orin NX 16GB: an eight-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU, a 1024-core NVIDIA GPU and 16 GB of LPDDR5, rated at up to 100 TOPS. The extra memory can help with 8MP cameras or stereo depth work. It runs NVIDIA JetPack 6.2, with the BSP pre-installed on the mandatory NVMe SSD in the M.2 2280 M key slot, and Sintrones states Jetson Orin module availability through January 2032.

On the VDB-101 board, Sintrones lists the oToBrite oToCAM264ISP, oToCAM260ISP and oToCAM223, the e-con Systems STURDeCAM25, STURDeCAM31 and 8MP STURDeCAM81, and the StereoLabs ZED X One 4K at up to four cameras, plus up to two ZED X Stereo units, all on FAKRA-Z. The IBOX-601-M12X-01-ONX16 has one 2.5GbE and one GbE port on M12 X-code, DB-9 ports for CAN FD, RS-232/422/485 and digital I/O, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and HDMI with 4K. Optional WWAN with Nano SIM, Wi-Fi and GPS fit the M.2 and mPCIe slots.

Power comes in at 9 to 60 V DC on an M12 K-coded connector, with smart power management, ignition control and overcurrent and overvoltage protection, and an optional backup battery is available. It is rated from -25 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, and designed to EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 (R25) requirements, with E-Mark compliance, CE and FCC Class A. It mounts on DIN rail or a wall. The IBOX-601-M12X-00-ONX16 is the VDB-100 alternative, and the IBOX-601-M12X-01-ONX8 has the 8GB module.
