Sintrones IBOX-650P-IP66-T1 NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin IP66 In-Vehicle Computers with 1000BASE-T1 and 10GbE

Automotive Ethernet is taking over more of the wiring on newer vehicles, with LiDAR, radar and control units often moving to single pair Ethernet. The Sintrones IBOX-650P-IP66-T1 series is a family of IP66 in-vehicle computers built for that change: alongside cameras, CAN FD and conventional Ethernet, it adds a 100/1000BASE-T1 port on a Phoenix Contact IEC 63171-5 connector, so the computer can sit on the same single pair network as the sensors. Sintrones lists the series as sample available, and it is available to order.

At its centre is the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64GB, with a 12-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU, a 2048-core NVIDIA GPU and 64 GB of LPDDR5, rated at up to 275 TOPS. That suits fusing four camera feeds with LiDAR and vehicle data in one unit. The system BSP is pre-installed on 64 GB of internal eMMC, an M.2 2280 M key slot takes an NVMe SSD for recording, and NVIDIA JetPack 6.2 or above provides Jetson Linux and the development tools. Sintrones states Jetson Orin module availability through January 2032, which helps when a vehicle program runs for several years.

The series has one model. The IBOX-650P-IP66-T1-JAO64 combines the SPE port with a Marvell 10GbE port and two Intel 2.5GbE ports with IEEE 802.3at PoE PSE Class 4 at 30 W each on M12 X-coded connectors, and four GMSL-2 camera inputs on FAKRA through the VDB-101 board. Two CAN FD ports use M8, while one RS-232/422/485 port and four digital inputs with four outputs use M12, with a 5 to 60 V analog input and a PWM output. HDMI and two USB 3.2 Type-A ports are IP67, and an M.2 B key slot with Nano SIM, an M.2 E key slot and a full-size mPCIe slot take optional WWAN, Wi-Fi and GNSS.

Typical deployments include buses and coaches, trucks, rail vehicles, port and airside machines and autonomous or driver-assisted vehicles that already use automotive Ethernet sensors. The IBOX-650P-IP66-T1 runs on 9 to 60 V DC through a Phoenix Contact M12 K-coded connector with smart power management and an optional backup battery, is tested to MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration, and has E-Mark compliance, CE, FCC Class A and UKCA. It is designed to EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 (R25) requirements, and the wall-mount unit measures 300 x 190 x 77.5 mm.
