Stereolabs ZED-X-WIDE-POL (ZED-311120) Global Shutter IP67 Stereo Camera with Wide 2.2 mm Lenses, Polarizer and 120° Field of View

Robots that work outside meet light that indoor robots never see: low sun on wet tarmac, reflections off glasshouses and car bodies, glare from standing water. The Stereolabs ZED-X-WIDE-POL is the outdoor wide-angle build of the ZED-X series, with a built-in polarizer over 2.2 mm lenses for agricultural robots, last-mile delivery machines and yard or site vehicles.

According to Stereolabs, the polarizer minimizes glare and reflections while enhancing color depth and image quality, which helps stereo matching on shiny or wet surfaces. The lenses cover up to 110° horizontally and 120° diagonally, ahead of two 1/2.6″ 2.3MP global-shutter sensors on a 12 cm baseline, so motion over rough ground stays sharp. The ZED-X-WIDE-POL measures depth from 0.3 m to 20 m, ideal to 12 m, at up to 1920 x 1200 and 60 fps or 960 x 600 and 120 fps, with a 200 Hz IMU supporting positional tracking.

Video and power travel over GMSL2 through a lockable FAKRA Z connector for up to 15 m, at a typical 1.46 W, to an NVIDIA Jetson Orin or Xavier host running Jetson Linux. Multiple cameras sync in hardware within 100 µs, so a front and rear pair can be read as one scene through a ZED-LINK-QUAD on Jetson AGX Orin. The ZED-X-WIDE is the same camera without the polarizer, and the ZED-X-NARROW-POL keeps the polarizer with 4.6 mm lenses for longer reach.

The IP67-rated aluminum body runs from -20 °C to 60 °C and up to 90% humidity at 40 °C, and is rated for 2g RMS vibration from 3 to 500 Hz, which suits exposed mounts on tractors and site vehicles. A 1/4″-20 thread, 2x M3 holes and 4x M4 rear holes take brackets or the optional tiltable mount. We supply the ZED-X-WIDE-POL tested on a Jetson Orin host with JetPack and the ZED SDK configured, with optional FAKRA cables to suit the vehicle.
