Vecow ECS-4700 Intel 13th Gen Core EN 60945 Marine Computers

Electronics on a ship face a test that land-based kit does not: EN 60945, the marine EMC standard that bridge and engine-room equipment is commonly assessed against. Most compact industrial computers are not built with it in mind. The Vecow ECS-4700 series is, and it brings 13th Gen Intel Core processing to marine computers that fit in a 256.8 x 141.0 mm footprint. That matters on smaller vessels, workboats and patrol craft, where cabinet space is tight and a single unit often has to record cameras, log sensors and drive a display at once.

Every ECS-4700 shares the same core. Raptor Lake-P processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics run on two DDR5 5200 MHz SO-DIMMs up to 96 GB, with Intel vPro, TSN, TCC and TPM 2.0. Two Intel I226 2.5GbE ports support TSN, and four RS-232/422/485 ports, USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C and up to four 4K displays handle field devices and screens. M.2 Key B and Key E sockets with a nano SIM take 5G, 4G or Wi-Fi modules, and an M.2 Key M PCIe x4 slot holds an NVMe drive beside the 2.5″ SATA storage.

The range splits by processor, networking and storage. The F models use the 14-core Core i7-1370PE with fan-assisted cooling: the ECS-4700F-PoER-1370PE adds two front-access SSD trays and the ECS-4700F-PoE-1370PE keeps an internal drive bracket. The fanless PoER builds, ECS-4700-PoER-1365UE and ECS-4700-PoER-1345UE, combine four PoE+ ports with the trays. The ECS-4700-PoE-1365UE and ECS-4700-PoE-1345UE keep PoE+ with internal storage, and the ECS-4700-2G-1365UE and ECS-4700-2G-1345UE drop PoE+ for the simplest fanless build.

In service, ECS-4700 marine computers typically handle onboard camera recording, vessel monitoring, machine vision and data logging, with the same units suiting rolling stock thanks to EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 EMC listings. Redundant 9-50 V DC inputs with 16-mode software ignition control cope with vessel and vehicle power, and the -25 °C to 75 °C operating range, IEC 60068-2-64 vibration and IEC 60068-2-27 shock ratings suit engine spaces and exposed cabinets. Vecow publishes a single user manual covering all five chassis builds, which keeps spares, mounting and BIOS settings consistent when a fleet mixes PoE, PoER and 2G models.
