ViviSign SD33M 33" Square Displays with Tempered Glass Front and 1920 x 1920 LCD

A square screen in a mall atrium or exhibition hall has to hold attention from across a busy space, and square artwork on a 16:9 panel loses much of its area to black bars. The ViviSign SD33M series is a family of 33 inch Square Displays, the largest in the ViviSign square range, with a 1920 x 1920 native square LCD at 500 nits so 1:1 content fills a large screen at full resolution.

Both builds share the same display. The panel is a native square LCD rather than a cut-down widescreen, with a 596.16 x 596.16 mm active area, 16.7 million colors at 72% NTSC, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles horizontally and vertically. Unlike the anti-glare models in the range, the SD33M has a glossy tempered glass front that protects the panel face in public areas, so placement away from direct light sources keeps reflections down. An ultra narrow bezel frames the screen, and ViviSign quotes an LED backlight life of over 50,000 hours.

The series splits on playback. The SD33M is the HDMI monitor build, with one HDMI input and one USB port, taking content from an external media player or PC. The SD33M-ANDROID integrates an Android 7.1 player with a quad-core Cortex-A17 processor with Mali-T764 graphics, 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, plus two USB 2.0 ports, wired LAN and Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth as an option. Content is updated from USB or a CMS, and third-party CMS software can be installed, so a group of screens can be run from one system.

Power comes from an external 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz supply delivering 12 V DC, and the datasheet rates the SD33M at 75 W. The displays operate from 0 °C to 40 °C at 10 to 80% humidity, suiting indoor spaces. Each measures 617.9 x 617.9 x 36 mm and weighs 10 kg, with a mounting bracket available as an option. ViviSign names museums, exhibition halls, shopping malls and supermarkets as the intended settings, where a large 1:1 screen can be read from a distance.
