Winmate FM14E-V 14″ IP65 Vehicle Mount Computer with Intel Atom x6425E and Bonded FHD Display

Wide forms, yard maps and multi-column pick lists are hard to read on a 4:3 screen, especially from a driver’s seat. The FM14E-V is Winmate’s 14 inch vehicle computer, putting an optically bonded 1920 x 1080 display in front of an Intel Atom x6425E inside an IP65 housing.

The Intel Atom x6425E is an Elkhart Lake processor at 2.0 GHz, a good fit for picking screens, terminal emulation and warehouse management clients. It ships with 4 GB of DDR4-3200 (8 GB optional), a 128 GB M.2 SSD (256 GB optional), a microSD slot, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and TPM 2.0. The 14 inch widescreen display runs at 1920 x 1080 with 700 nits and 800:1 contrast, and Winmate optically bonds it for sunlight viewability, which helps at loading docks and in open yards. Projected capacitive multi-touch handles the input, with four programmable function keys for common tasks.

I/O covers a Gigabit LAN port that can be specified as a 30 W IEEE 802.3at PSE to power a camera, USB Type-C and USB 2.0 ports, and two RS-232/422/485 ports on DB9 with 5 V on pin 9 for serial scanners, with CANBus and two-in, two-out DIDO as options. WLAN and Bluetooth are built in, with 4G/LTE on a dual nano-SIM slot and GPS/GLONASS as options. The FM14AD-V puts a Core i5-1235U behind the same display, and the FM12E-V keeps the Atom on a 12.1 inch 4:3 screen.

Power is 10 to 60 V DC with ignition control, covering 12, 24 and 48 V vehicle supplies. An optional 400 mAh UPS battery keeps the computer running for 20 minutes when the vehicle supply drops out. The IP65 waterproof and dustproof enclosure measures 342 x 225 x 52 mm, weighs 2.5 kg and fits RAM or VESA mounts. It operates from -30 to 50 °C at 5 to 90% humidity, is compliant with MIL-STD-810H Methods 516.8 and 514.8, and carries an IK07 impact rating. The unit carries CE and FCC marks, with UL60950-1, EN60950-1, PTCRB and IC (ICES-003) listed.
