Winmate L140AD-3 13.3″ Military Rugged Laptop with Intel Core i5-1235U, MIL-STD-461G and STANAG 4370

Field and defense teams often need a laptop that keeps working after a drop, in the rain or next to radio equipment that is sensitive to electrical noise. The L140AD-3 is Winmate’s 13.3 inch military rugged laptop for that work, with an Intel Core i5-1235U, an IP65 magnesium alloy enclosure with double injection for drop protection, and MIL-STD-461G electromagnetic compatibility as standard.

The 12th Gen Core i5-1235U runs at up to 4.4 GHz, and an Intel Core 5 120U is listed as an option. Memory is 8 GB as standard with 16 or 32 GB options, and storage starts with a 128 GB SSD, up to 2 TB, plus an optional second SSD and a microSDXC slot. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC with TPM 2.0. The 13.3″ screen shows 1920 x 1080 at 500 nits with optical bonding, anti-glare treatment and PCAP multi-touch, and the QWERTY keyboard has RGB backlighting.

Connections include a Gigabit LAN port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 3.0 Type-C port and an RS-232/422/485 port on DB9. A smart card reader is built in, or it can give way to an optional second Gigabit LAN port. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/GLONASS are standard, with optional 4G LTE or 5G, optional 4K HDMI output and optional RFID and fingerprint readers. The L140AD-4K puts a 14 inch 4K panel in the same design, and the L140AD-4 has a 14 inch 700 nit screen.

The L140AD-3 is IP65 rated and fan cooled, and operates from -20 °C to 60 °C. Winmate lists shock and vibration to MIL-STD-810H Methods 516.8 and 514.8 and to STANAG 4370 AECTP 402 and 401, with drop tested from 4 ft, and TEMPEST is optional. Two hot-swappable batteries are quoted at 11 hours, and it comes with an AC adapter for its 19 V DC input.
