Winmate L140AD-4 14″ Fully Rugged Laptop with Intel Alder Lake Core i5 and Optional 1200 Nit Display

Laptops used outdoors are often hard to read once the sun gets behind the operator. The L140AD-4 is Winmate’s 14 inch fully rugged laptop with a 700 nit bonded touch screen as standard and an optional high-brightness 1200 nit panel, an Intel Core i5-1235U and an IP65 magnesium alloy enclosure with double injection for drop protection.

The 14″ screen shows 1920 x 1080 with 800:1 contrast, optical bonding, anti-glare treatment and PCAP multi-touch. Inside, the 12th Gen Core i5-1235U runs at up to 4.4 GHz, with an Intel Core 5 120U as an option. Memory is 8 GB as standard with 16 or 32 GB options, storage is a 128 GB SSD up to 2 TB with an optional second SSD and a microSDXC slot, and it runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC with TPM 2.0.

I/O covers a Gigabit LAN port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 3.0 Type-C port and an RS-232/422/485 port on DB9. A smart card reader is standard, or an optional second Gigabit LAN port can replace it. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/GLONASS are standard, with optional 4G LTE or 5G, optional 4K HDMI output and optional RFID and fingerprint readers. The L140AD-4K is the 14 inch 4K model, and the L140AD-4L is a 14 inch rugged notebook with a 300 nit screen.

The L140AD-4 is IP65 rated, fan cooled and operates from -20 °C to 60 °C. Winmate lists MIL-STD-461G CE101, CE102, RE101, RE102 and CS118 as standard, shock and vibration to MIL-STD-810H and STANAG 4370, and drop tested from 4 ft, with TEMPEST optional. Two hot-swappable batteries are quoted at 11 hours, and an AC adapter for the 19 V DC input is supplied.
